The pickup usually happens soon after a game, outside the locker room or in a hotel lobby: women chasing more than a player's autograph linger, players looking for sex.
"They come up to you, catch you for your autograph and then ask if you're single," says Rob Dibble, pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds. "Girls want to touch you. They put you on a pedestal. It's out there if you want it."
